I bought a laserdisc player mainly for the things you still CAN'T find on DVD, blu-ray, 4K disc, or even VHS: e.g., lots of great concerts on the Pioneer label from back in the day, as well as unique educational material like the Dream Machine series (about computer animation history) from The Voyager Company, which became The Criterion Collection (fun fact). Also neat to get the rare box set of E.T. with the deleted Harrison Ford scene (only on laserdisc!), as well as The Compleat Tex Avery box set (every cartoon short he ever directed for MGM), also a laserdisc exclusive.

Of course, if we're considering it from today's perspective, there's barely anything to go back to for that console, but that's only because nearly all of its best titles were ported to the far more successful Switch. I think I'd personally drop the Wii by a rank, because while it was fun for the time, I similarly see no reason to go back to it, since most of *its* successful games have also been ported to the Switch. It's got that *novelty* factor, but I feel like that doesn't hold up much when you look at it from today's perspective. The 480p quality is also REALLY hard to go back to, unlike the WiiU's 1080p.

I have gigabit and average 20ms of ping in Rocket League. Still get packet loss every day, as do many of my friends with the same intenrnet packagaes. There is even more to it than speed and latency. Its the biggest FU ever that my options are gigabit anf packet loss or 15mb DSL through the only other provider we can get. Since I actually need good speeds for work we really have no choice. RIP my wallet and my games.

I know the Wii U was a 'low point' - but it was a better console than the Wii. It's still to this day one of my favorite consoles. The camera built into the handheld is gold and offers such a fun aspect. I could go on and on about this console! I know I'm in the minority, but it's an A or B in my book. Shoot to this day my kids use the Wii U about 50/50 with the Switch. And when friends/family come over, the Wii U always gets more attention. They should have hired me in the marketing department for it lol. Drop that gamecube down - that was their worst post-NES console built. Some 'ok' games but man such a dud otherwise. Ok I lie virtualboy was the worst but gamecube would be 2nd. Hereeeee comes the hate! LOL

Even though I was playing a lot on NES back in my childhood I now realise that despite historical significance most Famicom games suck. There are like 2 dozen masterpieces, but the rest is almost AVGN-level trash. I always thought that as a human being I would become more and more nostalgic, but surprisingly I now enjoy modern videogames no less or even more than in 90s 00s or even 10s.
